Bio
Sandi Griffin is a 20-year professional fitness and wellness coach, IFBB international Women’s Physique athlete, and Air Force spouse of 22 years, rooted in the Colorado Springs military and wellness community. Throughout her career she has coached Olympic athletes, Special Forces members, and everyday people navigating recovery, injury prevention, and performance — always with a whole-person approach that goes beyond physical training.
In 2023, Sandi founded the Colorado Springs Health & Fitness Expo from the ground up — no roadmap, no blueprint, just a conviction that Colorado Springs deserved an event that brought fitness, mental health, and community together under one roof. Building it hasn’t been without its challenges: a 2024 advisory year to restructure and expand, a return in 2025 with a packed vendor floor, and now a projected 1,500+ attendees for the 2027 event. In four years, the Expo has grown into one of Colorado’s most anticipated health and wellness events — 150+ vendors, dozens of speakers and panelists, and a programming slate that goes places other expos don’t.
That same year Sandi launched the Colorado Strong Fitness Challenge — the region’s most inclusive fitness competition, with divisions built for adaptive athletes alongside traditional and open categories.
What sets the COS Health & Fitness Expo apart is a refusal to do things the way every other expo does them. While most events stop at vendor booths and a stage, this one goes further — bold mental health panels tackling topics the industry typically avoids, a fitness competition with Wheelchair and Open Pride divisions built in from day one, a giving campaign woven into every ticket sale, and free community resources like Narcan training and CPR. Two programs stand out as true differentiators: the Vendor Success Studio, a free three-session business education series that helps vendors actually grow their businesses — not just show up and hope — and the VIP Networking Event, an invitation-only evening at Hotel Polaris connecting vendors, sponsors, and speakers in a setting designed for real relationship-building. No other health and fitness expo in the region is building infrastructure like this around the people who make it happen. Sandi’s coaching background and military community roots set a different standard: the question is never “what do other expos do?” — it’s “what does this community actually need?”
The Expo’s giving campaign benefiting the Suicide Prevention Partnership is personal. Sandi has navigated family experiences with suicide attempts and PTSD, and has lost military friends to suicide. It’s the “why” woven into everything she builds — and the reason every ticket sold carries a mission behind it.

On the Expo“Somewhere on our floor, someone is about to meet the coach, the doctor, or the friend who changes the direction of their life. I build every inch of this Expo for that moment.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the Giving Campaign“When you buy a ticket, you’re not just coming to an event — you’re helping save a life. 100% of ticket proceeds go to the Suicide Prevention Partnership, and I will always be proud of that.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the Giving Campaign“Suicide prevention is the heartbeat of this Expo. If one person walks in and finds the help, hope, or connection they needed, every hour we put in was worth it.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Colorado Strong“Colorado Strong is built for every athlete — Wheelchair, Open Pride, teen, senior, first-timer or seasoned competitor. You belong on this floor, and we can’t wait to watch you compete.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Colorado Strong“Altitude. Adversity. Every obstacle between you and the top. Colorado Strong rewards the people who push through it — that’s this whole state in one competition.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the Vendor Success Studio“Every vendor deserves more than a booth — they deserve a plan. The Vendor Success Studio gives them the strategy to turn one weekend into customers who stay with them all year, and it’s free.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the VIP Networking Event“The best partnerships I’ve ever made started with a conversation. The VIP Networking Event puts the right people in one room so those conversations can happen — and grow into something real.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the VIP Networking Event“When the wellness businesses in this city unite in purpose and bring their unique strengths to the table, everyone wins — the businesses, the families they serve, and our whole community. That’s what this night celebrates.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Speakers & Panels“Our stage is a place to hold very real, very transparent conversations — mental health, recovery, hormones, grief, the things people are living every day. When we talk about them openly, people feel less alone.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Speakers & Panels“I look for speakers who have lived it, studied it, and can’t wait to share it. Every session should leave someone with a real next step and the courage to take it.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Colorado Springs“Olympic City USA. A proud military town. A community that refuses to quit. This Expo was born here, and it’s built for the people who live here.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On Colorado Springs“This city taught me what it means to show up for each other. The Expo is how I give that back — one booth, one conversation, one life at a time.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the Growth Journey“Year four is all about getting better — sharper programming, stronger support for our vendors, and more impact for every person who walks through our doors.
— Sandi Griffin, Founder & CEO
On the Growth Journey“I started this with no roadmap, just a lot of faith in this community. Every award and every milestone belongs to the vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and guests who believed in this with me. I’m grateful — and we’re just getting started.
